About the Arkansas Lottery
The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery started in 2009, making it one of the younger state lotteries in the US. Like many of its fellow lotteries (e.g., North Carolina, South Carolina, and California), the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery contributes its profits to state education programs — specifically, grants and scholarships for Arkansas residents at in-state colleges and universities.
Since 2009, the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery has raised over $781 million for over 300,000 scholarships. It has also given out more than $2.8 billion in prizes to various winners.
Arkansas Lottery Tickets
You can buy lottery tickets at any of the thousands of authorized retailers or official ticket vending machines found all over the state.
Can I buy AR Lottery tickets online?
Unfortunately, you can’t. Arkansas follows most state lotteries in forbidding the sale of tickets over the web, through phone, by fax or mail, etc. Basically, you can only buy valid tickets at physical retailer locations or ticket vending machines found within the state.
AR Lottery Tickets Payment Methods
You can pay for tickets using cash. Depending on the retailer, you might also be able to pay using debit cards or even Apple Pay or Google Wallet.
However, state lottery regulations forbid the use of non-cash, deferred modes of payment, so you can’t buy lottery tickets using checks or credit cards.
Arkansas Lottery Games and Drawing Schedules
Lucky for Life
Arkansas is one of the 20+ state lotteries offering Lucky for Life, a multi-state game. Other participating states include South Carolina, Colorado, Massachusetts, and Vermont.
Players must pick 5 numbers from 1-48 and a Lucky Ball number from 1-18 to win the jackpot. Matching all 6 winning numbers gives you $1,000 a day for life. The second prize win, meanwhile, requires matching all 5 regular numbers but not the Lucky Ball. Second prize winners receive $25,000 a year for life.
Lucky for Life draws take place every Monday and Thursday.
Natural State Jackpot
The Natural State Jackpot reportedly has the best odds of all the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery draw games. The jackpot starts at $50,000 and increases by $5,000 until it hits the $150,000 mark. Afterwards, rollovers continue at $10,000 every draw until the jackpot is won.
Players must pick 5 numbers from 1-39. To hit the jackpot, you must match all 5 winning draw numbers.
Natural State Jackpot draws are held every day from Monday to Saturday.
Cash 4
Arkansas’ Cash 4 game runs twice a day. Each draw has a jackpot of $5,000, but your maximum prize depends on your wager and chosen playstyle.
To play, you must pick 4 numbers (each from 0-9), select a draw schedule (midday or evening), and choose from the following playstyles:
- Straight: You must match the winning numbers in the exact order.
- Box: You can match the winning numbers in any order.
- Straight / Box: You can match the winning numbers in any order or in exact order.
- Combo: You get to play Straight bets for all possible combinations of your chosen numbers, boosting your chance of winning.
Cash 4 draws are held twice a day except on Sundays (when there’s only the evening draw).
Cash 3
The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery holds Cash 3 draws twice a day. Players can win up to $500 with each draw. However, like the Cash 4 game, your chosen playstyle and wager will determine your maximum prize.
Players must select a number from 000 to 999, then choose a playstyle and a bet value. To win the highest jackpot ($500), players must match the winning draw numbers in exact order.
You can choose from the following playstyles:
- Straight: You must match the winning numbers in the exact order.
- Box: You can match the winning numbers in any order.
- Straight / Box: You can match the winning numbers in any order or in exact order.
- Combo: You get to play Straight bets for all possible combinations of your chosen numbers, boosting your chance of winning.
Cash 3 draws are held twice a day except on Sundays (when there’s only the evening draw).

Which tickets are eligible, the frequency of second-chance draws and the prizes on offer all depend on the lottery operator.
